Jean Poitras is a professor of conflict resolution at HEC Montréal, a management school affiliated with the University of Montréal (Canada). He has a Ph.D. in Environmental Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Jean is currently an associate consultant for the Partnership Building Project at the Urban Harbors Institute. The project aims to reduce negotiation costs related to the implementation of port and coastal management projects by working with public administrators in the development of a consensus building process.

He is the co-author of the book "Mediation and the Reconciliation of Interests in Public Dispute".
